# Adding moisture points and material readings

> Tap the 2D plan to drop a point on a floor, wall, or ceiling, then log a percentage and the material tested.

A floor plan has two views, and they do different jobs: the **2D view** is where you work — pinch to zoom in tight, tap anywhere on the floor, wall, or ceiling to drop a moisture point, and tap a wall to see its measurements. The **3D view** is a rotate-and-inspect model of the scanned room for getting your bearings — it's a viewer, not an editing surface.

For each point, log:

* A moisture reading (%) and the material tested — type it in and TrueRestore suggests materials your company has used before (Drywall, Wood, Concrete, Carpet, and so on build up automatically as you and your team log readings, rather than being a fixed list)
* An optional caption and photo
* An **unaffected** flag, if the material tests dry from the start — these are treated as a baseline reading, not drying progress

Set a **dry goal** for each point — once a new (non-baseline) reading comes in at or below goal, TrueRestore automatically flags the point **Dry**. It doesn't disappear once dry: it stays right on the map with its full reading history, so you can always see how it got there, and you can reopen and adjust the dry goal at any time if conditions change.

Points and readings show their own sync status, so you always know whether a reading has made it to the server yet.
