# Building a proposal

> Pick a quick ROM ballpark or a detailed scope-sheet build, with an AI first draft you can skip entirely.

From a job, select **New Proposal** and choose a type:

* **ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude)** — a quick, high-level estimate based on your initial notes, useful for giving a customer a fast ballpark.
* **Detailed** — line items generated directly from completed scope sheets, room by room.

TrueRestore's AI generates the first draft — sections and line items with quantities, units, and pricing pulled from your catalog and Time & Materials schedule — for you to review before sending. Prefer to skip AI entirely? You can also build a proposal completely by hand, adding sections and line items yourself.
