# Duplicating a job

> Duplicate Job starts a second job from an existing one's details, without any of its documentation.

**Who it's for:**Project LeadAdmin

**Available on:**Web

Duplicate Job makes a new job from an existing one. It's handy for a second job on the same property or loss, such as a rebuild after mitigation. It copies the job's **details**, not its documentation.

## Steps

1. In the web app, open the job and select **Actions**.
2. Select **Duplicate Job**, then confirm. The new job opens.

## What's copied

* Job details: company, work order, notes, damage description, job type, damage type and secondary damage types, dates, TPA, referring party, estimated value, claim number, status, schedule, and work tags
* The job summary
* The property address and property details, including insurance carrier and policy number (but not the elevation photo)
* The Project Lead, Lead Technician, Project Admin, and other people on the job
* Contacts

## What isn't copied

* Photos, videos, 360° captures, work notes, and other activity feed posts
* Rooms (locations), floor plans, moisture maps, and readings
* Equipment and T\&M entries
* Estimates, invoices, and change orders
* Forms, documents, and signature requests
* Ripple conversations
* A link to a job in a connected system such as ServiceTitan

The new job gets its **own job code**. Add the rooms and documentation it needs.

## Check before you use it

Review the dates, status, and team on the new job and change anything that doesn't apply (see [Touring the job detail screen](https://help.truerestore.ai/articles/touring-the-job-detail-screen.md)). Duplicating doesn't move anything from the original job. To combine two jobs that should be one, see [Merging duplicate jobs](https://help.truerestore.ai/articles/merging-duplicate-jobs.md).
