# Updating or deleting several pieces of equipment at once

> Select several or all units on a legacy-tracked job, give them one status and location, or remove them from the job.

This applies to jobs that use legacy (serial-number) equipment tracking. If you log daily counts instead, see [Using codeless equipment tracking](https://help.truerestore.ai/articles/using-codeless-equipment-tracking.md).

## Update several units (mobile)

1. Open the job and go to **Equipment Tracking**.
2. Tap **Select** at the top of the list.
3. Tap the units you want, or use **Select all**.
4. In the bar at the bottom, tap **Update**.
5. Choose the **Location** and **Status** (**Placed**, **Active**, or **Removed**), and add **Additional Notes** if you like.
6. Select **Confirm**.

Every selected unit gets the same update, dated the moment you confirm. There's no **Time** field here, so to log a different date or time for a unit, update it on its own. If you've searched or filtered the list, **Select all** covers only the units shown.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Update** never removes equipment from the job, even with every unit selected. Only **Delete** does that.

## Delete several units (mobile)

**Delete** is the other button in the same bar. It removes the selected units and their history from tracking on this job, and it can't be undone. It needs a connection. Units that haven't finished syncing are skipped, so delete them once they've synced.

## Update several entries (web)

On the job's **Equipment** tab (**Equipment (Legacy)** if your company has switched to codeless tracking), select **Bulk Status Update**, then select the cells you want to change in the equipment table. Select **Set To**, choose **Placed**, **Active**, or **Removed**, and select **Confirm**.
