# What works offline

> Nearly all field capture keeps working on a downloaded job, and the short list of features that will not.

Once a job is downloaded, you can fully work it with no connection: create and edit locations, regular and elevation photos, videos, moisture and atmospheric readings, floor plans, scope sheets, work notes and tags, and feed posts and comments. Everything queues locally and uploads automatically the moment you're back online.

A handful of features genuinely need a connection, since they depend on a live camera pairing, an external service, or data that isn't cached to the device — plan around these if you know you'll be somewhere with no signal:

| Requires connection                  | Why                                              |
| ------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------ |
| 360° photos (Ricoh Theta / Insta360) | Camera pairing happens live over Wi-Fi/Bluetooth |
| Equipment tracking (both modes) | Not cached locally |
| Custom forms | Templates and submissions aren't cached locally |
| Contacts & Companies                 | Not cached locally                               |
| Estimates and proposals | Built and stored server-side |
| Ripple (AI assistant) | Needs a live connection to answer |

<Note>
  If you open a job offline that hasn't been downloaded, TrueRestore tells you clearly that it isn't available offline, instead of showing a misleading empty job. If a download or upload is interrupted by a dropped connection or the app closing unexpectedly, it resumes automatically from where it left off rather than starting over the next time you're online.
