Room scanning uses your device’s LiDAR sensor, so Create a Scan only works on devices that have one. On other devices it’s greyed out or not shown.

Devices that can scan

Standard and other non-Pro iPhones, and iPad, iPad Air, and iPad mini, don’t have a LiDAR sensor and can’t scan. Android devices can’t scan either.

No LiDAR? You can still make a floor plan

On any phone or tablet you can upload a photo of an existing sketch or draw the room by hand instead, and get a map you can take moisture readings on. See Uploading or hand-drawing a floor plan.

I have a supported device, but I can’t scan

  1. Update TrueRestore. See How to check your TrueRestore version and update.
  2. Update iOS or iPadOS.
  3. If your Pro model was released very recently, TrueRestore may need an update before it offers scanning on it. Update when one is available.
  4. If scanning still isn’t offered, contact Support with your device model, iOS or iPadOS version, and TrueRestore version.
