Every job gets an automatic code in the format YY-#####-XXX — the two-digit year, a sequential number that resets each January, and a short abbreviation for the damage type (e.g. 26-00042-WTR). Changing a job’s damage type updates the abbreviation. Damage types themselves are fully customizable by an admin under Settings → Jobs — each has a name and the short abbreviation used in the job code. New accounts start with a set of common defaults you can rename, extend, or archive: Add new types, rename existing ones, or archive ones you no longer use — archiving hides a type from new jobs without touching the jobs already coded with it (a type can’t be permanently deleted while jobs still use it). If your company prefers to reference jobs by your own customer/reference number instead, an admin can turn on Display associated job code in Settings. Once enabled, that number — the preferred job code — is shown throughout the app and on reports in place of the internal code.
