Operating system requirements

Keep your device’s operating system and TrueRestore up to date. To check your TrueRestore version, see How to check your TrueRestore version and update.

Features that depend on your device

Storage and connection

  • Keep free storage on your device. Photos, videos, and scans are saved on your phone first, and a nearly full device can’t save new captures.
  • A stable connection, preferably Wi-Fi, makes uploads faster and more reliable. See Understanding sync status.

I can’t find or install TrueRestore

Check these in order:
  1. Check your operating system version. On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings → General → About. On Android, go to Settings → About phone. If it’s below the minimum above, install any available system update.
  2. Search from the store app itself. Open the App Store or Google Play, search for TrueRestore, and install from the official listing rather than an old link or a downloaded file.
  3. Check the store is up to date and signed in. On Android, update the Play Store and Google Play services, and make sure you’re signed into the right Google account.
  4. Free up storage if your device is nearly full.
  5. Restart the device, then try again.
If the store says your device isn’t compatible, or TrueRestore doesn’t appear even though your device meets the requirements, contact Support with your device make and model, operating system version, and a screenshot of the store page or message.
